Steve has been practicing civil and commercial litigation for 27 years. He advises and represents clients in a wide range of matters, such as employment law, including wrongful and constructive dismissals, workplace policies and procedures and human rights complaints, as well as contract disputes, construction liens, product liability, insurance coverage disputes, professional negligence and constitutional challenges. Steve has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario, the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and various regulatory bodies and tribunals.
Steve knows how and when to settle a case, but if litigation is required he has the skills to forcefully and effectively advocate on behalf of his clients.
I provide strategic, cost-effective advice. After an initial interview, I will explain the law, its implications for your position and what you may expect should a trial prove necessary. Mindful that a negotiated resolution is often advantageous, I will honestly and fairly explain your options and the probable outcomes of your matter. Favourable or otherwise, you are entitled to an informed and candid assessment of your case.
I am approachable. I will provide a meaningful estimate of the legal costs related to each of your available options. I am not wedded to billing by the hour and would be pleased to discuss alternative fee arrangements. If retained, I will work hard to obtain the best outcome in the most expeditious and least expensive manner reasonably possible. I believe in maintaining an open dialogue with my clients. I will provide timely updates on the progress of your matter and will always welcome your questions and comments.
I really enjoy my job. I take it seriously. I do it well.
